And here we are. After years of doing solo Thai massage practice, I am taking a leap of faith and doing what I've dreamed of doing since 2018.
Traveling to Thailand to learn Thai massage!
In 2018, I took a Thai on table course that changed my entire outlook on bodywork and the services I offer. I felt a deep connection to the art of Thai. The rhythmic nature of the stretches, the compression techniques along the meridians of the body, the deep connection I felt between my clients and I...It was magic for me.
I practiced for a few years along with offering my popular therapeutic deep tissue sessions until 2020 when the pandemic hit. I was forced to close my business. This turn of events had me thinking of what the future held for my profession. We are still dealing with the repercussions of the pandemic.
Once I was able to open, just a few months later I became pregnant with my son. So needless to say, these events put a hold onto my Thai massage learning endeavors. But I never forgot my dream. I've always wanted to go to where it all started. I wanted to learn from the originators, gain knowledge only they can give, and most of all immerse myself in the culture and patronize the country. My goal is to learn traditional Thai massage which includes many modalities that I believe will benefit my practice and this service I am offering and to begin teaching it myself here in the states.
With all big plans come big expenses. As many of you know I am a small business owner and a mother of a soon-to-be college student and a toddler. Yea. I know. LOL
I am humbly asking for anyone that is able to donate to my trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand to learn from the amazing teachers at Ong Thai Massage School. I plan to study for two weeks there between end of December and mid-January before their burning season where the air is not suitable.
I have created a breakdown of the costs of expenses and an estimated timeline of events. The date of travel and start date of classes may change depending on if my goal is met by projected time and in correspondence to the class schedule the school has.
I hope all that can give understand that this is very important to me, and I do not take your generosity for granted. I will be having a drawing for free bodywork sessions to those who donate within a certain tier. That breakdown is below as well.
Thank you so much for helping me with this long-awaited goal! I can't wait to share all I learn with you!
